Karen Nicca

Karen has been with our team since 1983. A San Jose native, Karen graduated from Santa Teresa High School in 1983 and received an AA degree from Evergreen Valley Jr. College in 1986. She also is licensed to take diagnostic x-rays. Her dental experience includes chair-side dental assisting as well as assisting in periodontal care. Since 1987, Karen rose to the ranks of office manager and care coordinator. When not in the office or spending time with her husband and 2 children, you can find her at the gym, gardening, cooking, walking the family dog, or having Mexican or Italian food.

Kathy Byrne

Kathy graduated from Foothill College Dental Hygiene School in 1983 and became part of our team that same year. Kathy's skills include preventive care, taking diagnostic x-rays, performing non-surgical periodontal (gum) treatment, and periodontal maintenance. When not providing treatment, Kathy divides her time between her daughter, who's attending SJSU and is recently engaged, and her son, who graduated from UCLA and currently works in San Francisco. Kathy also enjoys hiking, gardening, water sports and travel.

Valerie Rizzo

Valerie joined our team in October of 2007. She graduated from Boyton High School and received her Dental Assistant and Radiology license from Central County Occupational Center. Valerie assists Dr. O'Brien chairside with all dental procedures, and is our Infection Control and Sterilization Manager.  Outside of the office, Valerie loves to spend time with her elementary school daughter, who is growing and getting smarter everyday.
